Express Cut-to-Size Service

Get your stone cut to size and delivered fast. This service is designed for straightforward rectangular and square-section hearths, allowing you to handle the final fitting on-site.

How It Works

Select Your Material: Choose from our stock of Brazilian Black Slate (Riven, Honed, or Brushed) or our Grey and Black Limestone.
Provide Dimensions: We cut your slab into a precise square or rectangle (+/- 2mm tolerance).
Machine Finish: Slabs are supplied with clean, straight machine-cut edges as standard.

Available Upgrades

Edge Easing: We remove the sharp "factory" edge for a smoother, safer finish.
Side Honing: We hone the cut edges to remove all visible saw marks.
Pro Clean & Seal: Slabs are deep-cleaned with K30 and pre-sealed with Stovax Slate Oil so they are ready to install.

Need a T-shape, circle, or teardrop? These require our Full Bespoke Fabrication Service. We use precision CNC saws to handle complex shapes that can't be done with a standard straight cut.

WHAT SERVICE SHOULD I USE ?

This service is designed to be simple, cost-effective and quick. The following is not included :

Whilst most slabs can be cut, there may be some cases where some sizes are not offered
We will only cut shapes that are square or rectangular

Not sure which service you need?

1. The Express Rule: If your hearth is made of simple four-sided shapes (rectangles or squares), the Express Service is your best bet. Even if you need two separate pieces to form a layout, as long as they are straight-cut with the option of polished sides and eased edges, Express works.

2. The Bespoke Rule: If your design is a single-piece T-shape or requires curves, notches, or complex angles, you need our Fully Bespoke Service. using CNC technology and skilled stone masonry skills to guarantee the precision required.

How much does THIS SERVICE cost ?

This is how the express service works. A worked example will be easy to follow

First, you pick the stock size slab(s) that we need to cut from lets say as an example, natural riven slate 1200 x 900 x 20mm. The current price is £75.14
Let's say you want this slab cut down to 1100 x 750 mm - there is a flat rate charge of £75.00
If you wanted to upgrade the cut slab from step 2 to our signature finishing package this is a flat £60.00 - and you getthe foloowing

All edges are "eased" the profile is still square but the edge is smooth
All ourward facing sides are honed - this removes the saw marks from the cutting process
The slab is cleaned with K30 Stone Cleaner - to ensure the natural beauty is seen
Finally the slab is treated with tow coats of Stovax Slate oil - the surface and all exposed edges
